I have rated this five-star because the book is brilliant. It was the first Dork Diaries book I bought, (I have all the books) and I immediately fell in love with it. Also, I have read it enough times to know how good it is. There is lots of humour in this book. It will definitely make you laugh!

Rachel Renee Russell is an attorney who prefers writing tween books to legal briefs. (Mainly because books are a lot more fun and pajamas and bunny slippers aren't allowed in court.)

She has raised two daughters and lived to tell about it. Her hobbies include growing purple flowers and doing totally useless crafts (like, for example, making a microwave oven out of Popsicle sticks, glue, and glitter). Rachel lives in northern Virginia with a spoiled pet Yorkie who terrorizes her daily by climbing on top of a computer cabinet and pelting her with stuffed animals while she writes. And, yes, Rachel considers herself a total Dork.

Dork Diaries: Party Time

Hi, guys! What's up??

I will be posting another book review today. It is of Dork Diaries: Party Time. This is the second installment in the "Dork Diaries" series.

This is what its about:

Nikki is finally starting to adjust to life at her new school and things are looking up. She’s made some real friends and her major crush, Brandon, even asks her to be his lab partner in science, Hello! Seriously awesome development! But when Nikki overhears mean girl Mackenzie bragging that Brandon’s going to take her to the Halloween dance, a bummed Nikki agrees to spend Halloween at a kids’ party for her little sister Brianna. It’s only after she makes the commitment that she finds out Mackenzie was lying and that her dream of going to the party with Brandon could be a reality. Now she’s got two parties to juggle, what’s a girl to do?

I would give this a rating of...


I rated it four-and-a-half stars because the last diary entry was, like, 64 pages long!! That is way too long. It would be better if Rachel(the author) could have shortened it to... 30 pages. Most of the diary entries are no higher than 10 pages. But, seeing as it was the most important day in the book, 30 pages is enough.

That's my opinion! What's yours?
